High School Youth Group, aka, RINGS
RINGS (Redeemer Intertwined with Nativity, Grace, and St. John’s) has been busy learning about domestic violence and making cookies (interesting combination, eh?). By November 29, we will have made 6 big pans of cookies for Nativity’s craft fair and 6 big pans of cookies for Redeemer’s. That’s a lot of butter and chocolate! The shirts have come in, so if you bought one, bring your $10 for Jamielynn. They look great! Oh, and don’t forget Mrs. Appner’s challenge: bring a new friend and you each get a HUGE chocolate bar.
In the month of December, we have 2 events planned. The first is, of course, the Annual Christmas Par-tay Blowout including holiday wear contest (put on your best holiday outfit and win a prize!), gift swap, and Christmas house building competition. We’ll have it at Grace in Richmond this year on Sunday, December 13, 5:00 to 7:00pm. Start thinking about your house designs and get your $5 gifts now! Try finding them at a second-hand store to make things interesting!
The second event is a trip to Chicago. Because everyone is so busy, and because there are sports that still go on during winter break, PLEASE bring your calendars to the Christmas Par-tay so we can schedule it. If you can’t make it to the Par-tay, please let Pastor Sarah (815-236-5087) or Pastor Tom (815-236-9411) know what works best for you. Plan to spend the whole day in Chicago; we’ll probably take the train, so dress accordingly and bring enough cashola for the trip.
